French Toast with Bacon
Sweet and savory
Ingredients- 4 slices of brioche bread
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of whole milk
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 4 slices of bacon
- Butter for topping
Preparation- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the bacon in the skillet until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the skillet.
- Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
- Place soaked bread slices into the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices, adding more butter to the skillet if needed.
- Serve the French toast with butter on top and drizzle with maple syrup.
- Place bacon slices on the side and serve hot.
