As snow skitters softly by the rail—

There once was a walker who grinned,
At a corkboard where wisdom was pinned;
"Condoms beat diapers—save dough,"
"Stop bullying—just say no"—
Now that's a board of education, well-pinned.

There once was a gull by the bay,
gull-ty of seizing the day.
From a tray of fried fish,
it swiped chips to its wish,
batter up—then it winged away.

There once was a carver in-store,
Who logged on to the aisle with a roar;
He carved seats from a trunk,
While chips flew by the chunk,
We all saw what he saw—cutting-edge to the core!

Two sweethearts sat benched by the shore,
As towers poured neon galore;
With the wheel turning slow,
And a spire in the glow,
They harbored their feelings—a current affair offshore.

In a kitchen where sunshine oozes,
A pup curls up tight for some snoozes;
By apples galore,
And a runner to the door,
He makes a counterpoint—paws-itively, snoozes.
